Parish Church Old Saint Urban, 8th–19th Century
Immediately to the west of the Church of St. Heribert stood the parish church of St. Urban, which was built in the 8th century or the 9th century at the very latest. It served as the parish church of the inhabitants of Deutz. The church was violently destroyed and rebuilt several times before it was finally demolished in 1862. The building’s ground plan has been recreated on site.
